Give me one word...
Why do you say that?
It was nice to pick up a book that didn’t entirely focus on the main character’s love life. I felt that Jill Hathaway wrote Vee brilliantly. Here’s a female character that is not a social butterfly and is able to talk to guys without feeling the need to flirt with every single one of them. Her back story is a little tragic and yet is not there so people can pity her but rather so that they can understand why she behaves the way that she does.
‘Slide’ does a good job in keeping up the mystery and builds tension well. I found that the writing flows well and it was easy to connect with the characters and the emotions that they go through. Throughout the book we are presented with a series of suspects that all have potentials motives to murder and are emotions are toyed with as they are crossed off the list and then put back on it.
My only gripe with 'Slide' is that although there were a number of suspects I found that I had figure out what was going on before it was revealed and so spent the last part of the book waiting for Vee to catch up.
I’m very glad to hear there is a sequel to this book and look forward to diving once again into Vee’s world.
This book is fast paced and will make you want to read on. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for something a little different and enjoys the paranormal/mystery genre.
